Meet Sabre
The Office Manager
Sabre's my blue Doberman. He's been with me through every project, every deadline, every debugging session. When I started building websites, he was there. When I almost died from that Shopify project last year, he was there.
He supervises. He judges. He reminds me to take breaks. This whole company is named after him.
How He Got Here
Born in Oklahoma. Smart from day one. My husband brought him home, and Sabre immediately decided I needed supervision.
When I started learning web development, Sabre was my constant. Lying on his rug while I figured out JavaScript. Staring at me when I'd been at the computer too long. Being the calm presence when projects got stressful.
So when I finally launched Bluedobie Developing, there was only one name that made sense.
What He's About
- Lying on his rug during brainstorming sessions
- Judging my code from across the room
- Being the star of our social media (because apparently people like dogs more than websites)
- Reminding me that breaks exist

I need to borrow Sabre’s page for a minute. For almost 11 1/2 years, this blue dog has been beside me. He’s the reason Bluedobie has its name. The original Blue Dobie. My shadow, my supervisor, my migraine and blood sugar alarm, my personal-space problem, and occasionally the self-appointed head of household operations. And he is still completely Sabre. He still follows Mama everywhere. He still knows when it’s Bird 30. Food remains extremely important. He still supervises Daddy, Zeke, and everyone within range. His body just can’t keep up with him anymore. His mobility has gotten worse, he’s living with chronic pain, and the things he still wants to do are becoming harder on him than they are enjoyable. Anthony and I have made the decision to let him go peacefully on September 24, as long as he continues to tell us that’s the right time. We’re not waiting for an emergency to make the decision for us. And September 24 is not a deadline we’re making him reach. If he tells us sooner that he’s had enough, we’ll listen. But right now? He’s here. And while he’s here, this is still Sabre’s page. There will still be food reports, nose pictures, ridiculous sleeping positions, Bird 30, Doberman High Council business, and whatever other nonsense Mr. Blue fits into the next few weeks. I’m not turning his time into a countdown. A lot of you have followed Sabre for years. You’ve laughed at the food reports, attended entirely too many meetings of the Doberman High Council, admired the nose, witnessed Bird 30, and loved this ridiculous blue dog right along with us. Thank you for loving my little blue dog. 💙 If you’d like to send Sabre a card, a little gift, or a message for me to read to him, DM me for our mailing address. There's no expectation to send anything, and I will only share our address privately. Anything he doesn’t get to use will go to Zeke. I’ll be stepping away from socials on September 23. I don’t know what happens with this page afterward, and I’m not deciding that now. For now, Mr. Blue still has business to conduct. And apparently Mama has become much more reasonable about the distribution of people food. We’ll take it from there - Mama 🐾💙
